Do you provide the alcohol?
No. Virginia law doesn't let us buy or sell alcohol, so the host buys it, based on what we plan together for your guests and your menu. Anything left at the end of the night is yours to keep.
Do I need a license?
Yes. The host gets a Virginia ABC one-day banquet license for the event. It costs about $55, and processing takes about 7 to 10 days, so apply at least 30 days ahead. We walk you through the application.
Do you check IDs?
Always. Our bartenders check ID and won't serve anyone under 21, anyone without a valid ID or anyone who appears intoxicated. We don't pour straight shots.
How far ahead should I book?
Most of our events book 7 to 8 months out, and dates go first come, first served. A closer date is still worth asking about.
How much does it cost?
Every price on this site comes from our price checker, so the number you see there is the number we quote. The Blair is $275 an hour and the Pop Up Bar is $150 an hour. The Micro Trailer is $700 flat for 2 hours. Drink packages are priced per guest, and alcohol is never included.
To price your own event, pick your bar, hours and guests in the price checker on our Packages page for a running total. Sending it costs nothing.
Is there a minimum?
The Blair has a 3-hour minimum and the Pop Up Bar has a 2-hour minimum. The Micro Trailer has 2 hours included, and a cocktail class has a 1-hour minimum. Extra hours can be added to your quote.
How do deposits and payments work?
A request or a quote doesn't hold your date. A signed contract and a 50% deposit do. The deposit goes toward your total.
The balance is due 30 days before your event. If your event is less than 30 days away when you book, the full amount is due at booking. We take payment through Square, which accepts most major cards.
How does gratuity work?
Our bartenders aim to collect an 18% gratuity at your event. If 18% isn't met at the event, we invoice you a 20% gratuity.
What if I need to cancel?
To cancel, email us at least 7 days before your event. Cancellations must be in writing, and there is a $300 cancellation fee.
Your deposit can't be moved to another date or person unless we both agree in writing.
What do you need on site?
For The Blair, flat ground and clear access for our truck to get in and out. The trailer is 8 feet tall, 6 feet wide and 10 1/2 feet long.
We need to be within 75 feet of a power outlet. If there's no power nearby, we bring a quiet generator.
What if it rains?
We can't hold rain dates, because each date is booked well in advance. Plan a tent or cover in front of the bar and we keep serving.
Do you take the trash away?
We bring trash cans and keep the bar area neat, and at the end of the night we bag everything and leave it where you choose. We don't haul event trash away.
How many bartenders will we need?
The Blair comes with 2 bartenders for up to 150 guests. The Pop Up Bar comes with 1 for up to 75, and the Micro Trailer with 1 for up to 50.
A bigger crowd adds a bartender at $50 an hour. Please send your final guest count 30 days before the event.
Which garnishes are included?
Lemons, limes, oranges and cherries come with our open bar and signature drink packages. Specialty garnishes, like mint, berries or peaches, can come from you or be added to your quote.
Can we skip the alcohol?
Yes. We'd love to serve a nonalcoholic menu, and every one of our drink packages already includes soft drinks.
